Go North

NORTH POINT CAFE – 2b North Road Brighton, VIC – (03) 9596 9196

So, when the weather is fine and the weather is hot, you got the beach on your mind, I know we did! This place is conveniently located right at the end of North Road. There is ample parking but beware, not cheap! At $5 an hour you would hope this cafe serves their food quickly. Luckily, they do.

Firstly, they are very dog friendly and you will have quite a few seats out front to choose from or you can tie your pooch up outside and sit inside the restaurant. What I liked was that even though you can sit inside, they have bi-fold doors which open up so your furry little friend can still see you. Even better if you get a seat near the edge – that’s only if you don’t want to sit outside.

Fish cakes Breakfast burgerThe food is good, cafe style, nothing too fancy but nothing drab either! We had the fish cakes and we tried the breakfast burger – both went down well. But a little bit over priced based on other places we have visited. The coffee was good, and they have a few beers and some wines on the menu as well as Moet Chandon if you feel fancy 😉

Your pup will get lots of attention and other furry friends will indeed say hello, they have water bowls for dogs spotted around so no need to BYO.

KioskThis is a good spot because you can work the trail to the Brighton dog beach and be prepared to run into the local pups on your way just doing their thing. You can also grab an ice cream at the Kiosk which is part of the North Point Cafe.

We had a nice time here, the staff were lovely, the atmosphere really relaxed, which is what you expect for a place by the sea. We give this place 3.5/5
